Undergraduate Research Assistant at I2Sense Lab, University of Calgary

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Position Type: Part-time, temporary, one-year contract with potential extension

About I2Sense Lab: Step into the dynamic I2Sense Lab, a hub of groundbreaking sensor network, machine learning, and data analytics research. Collaborate with academic and industry partners while honing your skills.

Role Summary: The lab is looking for a motivated and technically skilled Undergraduate Research Assistant to oversee data collection, analyze FL2F workshop program data, manage lab websites, automate tasks, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the FL2F workshop program data collection and research analysis pipeline.
  • Update and maintain lab websites, including backend tasks.
  • Create automation scripts to streamline lab activities.
  • Collaborate within a team, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Thoroughly document code and processes.
  • Fulfill additional tasks assigned by supervising faculty and graduate members.

Required qualifications:

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate in Electrical and Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming and familiarity with GitHub.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, Docker, and TypeScript.
  • Self-motivated with a knack for independent work.
  • Prior research experience.
